I have many reviews to write, but will post them Monday as I would rather share the news herein. I am in the debt of Ian Feller. He has worn many hats in our industry and at his last position prior to the present at CrossGen he was initially the director of public relations. From that job he moved to the editor of the Code Six line within CG. But as PR head he placed me upon company comps for the purpose of reviews. CG, and especially Ian were very loyal to what was then a small column for a small site. I had a few hundred readers at most, and without the support of CG and Ian I would never have arrived where I am today. Ian’s faith in me and help and friendly emails all made me realize that I was doing something worthwhile. I thank him herein, and acknowlege his role in whatever success I have experienced.
When CrossGen suffered its implosion Ian lost his position at CG. But, that was not the end of the story.

Platinum fired up
Comicbook to explode as pic
By DAVID ROONEY
NEW YORK -- Comicbook entertainment company Platinum Studios will develop live-action feature film "Unleashed," based on characters from Myatt Murphy's graphic novel and comic series "Two Over Ten."
Described as "The Fugitive" meets "Firestarter," story follows a man with an uncontrollable affliction that causes things he touches to explode. He's forced to go on the run from authorities and a ruthless enemy intent on harnessing his destructive power.
In addition to "Unleashed," Platinum will develop other characters from the same series for film and TV projects.
"The comic is a gold mine of characters and story hooks," said Platinum chairman Scott Mitchell Rosenberg. "The story is action and drama, but the core has to do with just what ordinary people do when tossed into extraordinary circumstances."
Platinum creative exec Aaron Severson is overseeing development of the property for the company.
Platinum has a library of more than 1,000 comicbook characters and stories from artists around the world. Rosenberg formerly ran Malibu Comics, where he discovered the "Men in Black" property, which he then brought to Sony. Also at Sony, Rosenberg is producing comic-to-film title "Cowboys & Aliens," with Escape Artists.
Other Platinum projects include sci-fi action-adventure "Unique" for Touchstone, about a man trapped between parallel worlds; David Goyer ("Blade: Trinity") is attached to direct, and Michael Cooney ("Identity") is scripting. Rosenberg will produce with David Heyman and Heyday Films.
At Miramax, Rosenberg has set up "Mal Chance," a romantic comedy-cum-martial arts actioner about a female assassin with a mob bounty on her head; at DreamWorks, Platinum has set up Italian cult comic "Nathan Never."
The Los Angeles-based company also has Showtime series "Jeremiah" back for an eight-episode arc later this year, with "Lord of the Rings" star Sean Astin joining the cast.

Savage Membrane and Guns, Drugs, and Monsters Back In Print Steve Niles’s Hit Novels Once Again Available For Ordering
San Diego, CA, March 16, 2004. Due to intense consumer demand, IDW Publishing has gone back to print on Steve Niles’s Cal McDonald novels Savage Membrane and Guns, Drugs, and Monsters. These out-of-print novels have been in huge demand, and with the success of other Niles comics such as 30 Days Of Night and Dark Days—as well as a major film deal for the Cal McDonald character—the demand for his novels has skyrocketed.
Writer Steve Niles said, “I'm just thrilled Cal is back where he started and where he belongs. It's like I always say, home is where the horror is, and that's IDW.”
Both books are now available to order from Diamond Distributors:
Savage Membrane (JAN045241)
Guns, Drugs, and Monsters (JAN045242)
“I'm very pleased that we've been able to go back to press on Steve's out-of-print Cal McDonald novels,” IDW publisher Ted Adams said. “Readers and retailers have been asking for these reprints for a long time and I'm glad we can finally help them out.”
Savage Membrane and Guns, Drugs, and Monsters are both 200-page trade paperback novels, priced at $16.99, with covers and black and white illustrations by Ashley Wood.
“”Marvel Comics and artist Dave Cockrum have reached an agreement on a contract that will allow Marvel to continue to fully own the many characters Cockrum created for the company, while compensating Cockrum for his years of service and the seminal characters he created. In an undisclosed agreement today, author Clifford Meth accepted a deal for Dave Cockrum that, combined with other industry events, will help get the Cockrum family back on its feet after months of financial burdens resulting from Cockrum's hospitalization.””

It's well known that money makes people disembarrass. But how to act if someone does not have money? The one way is to get the mortgage loans or bank loan.
